NEW YORK, NY — Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, issued the following statement today in preparation for the observance of Sanctity of Life Sunday on Jan. 19.

“It’s been 30 years since President Ronald Reagan designated Jan. 22, 1984, as Sanctity of Human Life Day, to coincide what was then the 11th anniversary of the tragic and unjust Roe v. Wade decision. So many Churches, of all denominations, continue to mark the third Sunday of January as Sanctity of Human Life Sunday.

“Today we remind every pastor in America that preaching against abortion does not mean we are judgmental, nor does it mean we are political. It simply means we stand with the weakest, most marginalized members of our society, the children still in the womb, and we stand ready to help their moms and dads welcome new life, despite the fears they may have.

“We at Priests for Life and Gospel of Life Ministries are happy to provide resources for preaching at www.ProLifePreaching.com and for prayer at www.PrayerCampaign.org,” Fr. Pavone concluded.

The premier prayer event marking this month of prayer and preaching on abortion will be held on Wednesday, January 22 in Constitution Hall in Washington, DC, and Fr. Pavone will deliver the sermon. See www.NationalPrayerService.com for details.
